Types Of Foods You Should Not Feed Your Pet Canine

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Even though a dog may think something is appetizing, and try to eat it, that doesn’t always work out for the dog and his or her health. Some types of foods can cause serious damage to the digestive system of a dog, or in some cases, even quickly cause critical heart problems.

Onion of any kind can do serious damage to a dog. Onion has the potential to cause anemia in dogs, and should be avoided at all costs. Even products derived from onion, such as onion salt or onion powder, can still cause damage to the dog. It is so serious that even cooking a steak with onion would mean that giving the dog a cut of the steak is out of the question, for fear of health concerns of anemia.

If raw foods such as onion and garlic can cause harm, then of course artificial foods and sweeteners can too! Xylitol is an example of an artificial sweetener that has been known to induce liver failure in dogs when consumed. Xylitol is found in a variety of consumer products, but is easily spotted on the ingredients list for those that want to know what they can feed their dog.

Pet Stores Are A Virtual Mall

Friday, March 5th, 2010

In today’s fast paced shopping world, the pet stores are beginning to look more like large shopping centers for you and your beloved pet. Just about anything you may ever need for your loved one can be found in these one stop stores.

Of all the animal products that are sold in these stores, the dog and cat products, are the most popular. Most generally you will often find cute little puppies and kittens in these shop windows just begging you to take them home. You will be able to find all of your pets foods and even their treats in these great stores.

The overall selection of food that you will find is huge and will contain just about any flavor that your pet could ever crave. Most generally you will find that these stores will actually carry the higher end brands with just a few choices in the middle priced ranges. These choices will also be able to cover all types of your pet needs throughout the stages of your pets life.

Buying Pet Supplies For The First Time

Monday, February 8th, 2010

The number of types of pet supplies is as unlimited as the different types of pets you can have. You should do research on what you need and why. Then talk to an associate at a pet store. If you already know why you need certain things, you can then make sure you are not talked into buying something you do not need.

One thing to keep in mind is that any good pet store that is truly pet friendly will give you a discount on your supplies if your pet is a rescue. They do this to decrease the number of animals that need to be put down at a shelter. Some stores have been known to give certain items for free or give up to eighty percent off all of your costs.

You may feel the urge to buy all the items a pet may need in its lifetime all in one go. People do the same thing with new babies. Keep in mind that you have no idea what this animal’s personality is like or what they might prefer. Oddly enough, many animals tend to like playing in inexpensive items like cardboard boxes.

How To Perfect Dog Ownership

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

1. Being to harsh with your dog and especially in its early years, will have severe consequences to the mental state of the dog. It will leave the dog feeling unwanted and unloved and it might even lead to a depression.

2. Do not make your dog overeat. To much food will hurt its physique and will make a major impact on its well being. As your dog gets fat from overeating it will lose its energy and joy and you’ll end up with a fat, lazy and unhappy pet.

3. Giving your dog your leftovers might seem like a fun an generous gesture but human food can actually hurt your dog. To give your dog what will serve it best you might consult with your local VET to find out what your specific breed of dog requires.

4. To take your dog walking can be a fun experience and since your will need to do it every day (or even more times if you have a larger breed dog) you might as well enjoy it. And you probably already know that your dog is not the only one that needs exercise, right?

What is Fishing Equipment

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Fishing equipment is referred to as fishing tackle by fishing aficionados and it usually refers to rods, lines, hooks, sinkers, spears, lures, bait, reels, nets, and et cetera. The fishing gear that is attached at the end of a line is referred to as terminal tackle

The word tackle when it refers to fishing gear comes from ‘takel’ which initially meant the rigging of a ship, that is, the equipment consisting of ropes supporting a ship’s masts and sails. Later, the same word was recorded to have a different meaning, that of equipment for fishing and that meaning has been retained ever since then.

The most basic fishing equipment consists of a rod, a line, a hook, a lure, a bait and a weight or sinker. The line is a simple cord specially made for fishing that is both long, strong and yet thin, so that fish do not notice it. There are various things that an angler asks about when buying a fishing line, such as its resistance, stretch, strength et cetera. The line will be chosen depending on what kind of fish the angler hopes to catch.

Cat Food – The Best, The Healthiest, The Most Nutritious

Monday, November 30th, 2009

We humans have a capacity of extremes. There are those of us who are honest to the letter and there are those of us who are equally dishonest. Stress often plays an important part of being dishonest, especially for a struggling businessman desperately trying to provide for his family.

Then there are those who are just plain greedy and don’t care how they arrive at their fortune as long as they do.

Luckily, in most countries, there is now a system in place that ensures a basic (some might say very basic) standard that all manufacturers or suppliers of human food must meet.

Sadly this is either not the case for animal feed, or the standards are so low as to be useless.

So despite all the pretty advertising, all the logically convincing and reassuring words from your vet, chances are, if you’re feeding your cat a processed cat food, you’re directly contributing to her ill health.

The big brand names in cat food contribute financially to veterinary colleges, which explains why vets surgery reception areas are now piled high with these brands. But does it spell quality?

Choosing the Best Wedding Photographer

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

In a person’s life, marriage is one of the most important events. Capturing the moment in pictures will make it even more grand. Photos can capture the place, the people who were there, and even the food served. Wedding photography and food photography usually go hand in hand, so choosing a photographer or studio to ensure all of these memories are captured can get quite challenging.

Getting a fantastic wedding and/or food photographer is actually quite easy. There are many factors to consider, but the fundamentals would be finding out the person or company’s style, experience, price range and personality.

It’s almost foolproof to know how great your photographs will turn out by checking the photographer’s portfolio. Their studios usually showcase a wide range of samples, depending on their specialty. A wedding photographer or company will of course showcase a lot of pictures from various weddings, a food photography specialist will display a lot of different artistic food photos, and so on.

Experience counts as much as talent does, so check the photographer’s portfolio. Aside from the displays on office walls, photographers usually have “online portfolios.” These are simply websites that show some of their best work on whatever field they best at. For instance, a wedding photographer’s website will show his or her best photos captured from different weddings: the bride and groom, ceremonies, churches, receptions, and even the food.

Should You Feed Organic Cat Food for Best Feline Health?

Friday, November 27th, 2009

The health of domestic cats is on the decline. Their life span is much below that of their wild cousins and the cats of your parents era. I frequently hear people implying their cat is old by the time they have reached eight or nine years of age.

Not that long ago, it was common for cats to reach 18 or 19 years of age, with a few rare exceptions reaching nearly 30.

You may have your own reasons why this might be happening, and I’m probably going to voice most of them here!

By virtue of the regularity of eating, I consider the most important reason why cats aren’t as healthy as they once were is the diet they are fed.

As people are coming into this awareness, there is a mad scramble by the commercial cat food industry to attract you with pretty words and smiling actors on the labels. The pretty words include icons such as ’scientifically proven’ or ‘recommended by top vets’, although that is now less alluring than ‘natural’ or ‘all natural’. (I’m not sure what a ‘top vet’ is either. Could it be one who does the most advertising for the industry?)

Cuban Cigars Are Phenomenal

Friday, November 27th, 2009

Worldwide, cigar smokers would without doubt concur to the fact that the pleasure the Cuban cigars give are above all other types of cigars. They are eternal bliss for cigar smokers and should be since they are made with such quality preference. The Cuban cigars, being the finest, actually go through a very elaborate process which then gives it the result of such distinctiveness. They are each hand-made. The tobacco leaves are chosen with observance, then cleaned in the most fitting manner and dried. They are then finally rolled through a complex process and get their flavor by following high quality details to get its strong and flavorsome individuality.

Even though this whole process will consume much more time if compared with the cigars manufacturing process companies which are assisted by machines, but the taste and quality is unmatched of the Cuban cigar which the smoker cannot leave unnoticed the pleasure of experiencing it. Cohibas are no doubt the most renowned Cuban cigars which is flavorful and delicate which attracts smokers to try it.
