Your Wedding: Choosing the right Photographer

Wednesday, September 30th, 2009

If you’re going to be getting married soon, you’ll need to hire a photographer. Don’t make the mistake of having a friend or relative just take a few snapshots! There’s a world of difference between professional photos and ones you take at home, and if you really want beautiful keepsakes, you need a professional.

Of course, before you hire your wedding photographer, you need to know what to look for. A good photographer should believe that everyone is beautiful and that every wedding is important. Beware companies that treat your wedding like just another job – they won’t offer the personal treatment you really deserve.

A good wedding photographer sees your ceremony and reception as an exciting opportunity. After all it gives them the chance to capture the important moments of your big day. Weddings are extremely important, and you and your fiance, as well as your family and friends, are commemorating the commitment that’s going to change your entire life.

An Intro To Training Dogs

Monday, September 28th, 2009

Know your options well before you start dog training. There are now quite a variety of dog training methods available. Each of these training courses offers something different, with different price levels.

The first stage in dog training is called puppy preschool. This dog training program is intended for pups aged around 6 weeks to 5 months. A puppy preschool class will usually take six to eight weeks to complete. In these classes, socializing with peoples and other puppies is the foundation of what is being taught. And, this is where your pup starts discovering the way to sit, stay and come to you.

The second part of the dog training focuses on ages 5 months old and up. Basic dog training is the name of this particular program. These classes are in session for eight to ten weeks. The basic course teaches dogs to sit, stay, heel, come, and walk on a leash.

The third type of dog training course is known as the intermediate dog training. This dog training aims at teaching the dog mostly the same things that are taught in the basic training course, in a more detailed form. Here the dog is trained to stay for a longer span of time, and is also taught to follow the orders given by other people.

Have A Beautiful Home By Upgrading Your Exterior Decor

Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Over a period of time the exterior of a home may become stale in appearance. As homeowners, we fail to remember the simple things that can add beauty to our home. While these decisions are challenging, it is better to start with a simple approach. The simple approach is usually the least expensive.

We often begin with the simple things such as painting the exterior of our home. The Home Depot has a great paint center where we can choose colors and textures to enhance our homes beauty. The friendly staff are very helpful in helping you coordinate colors for your home.

Now that you have the exterior portion of your home painted, seamless gutters and downspouts help to give your home a strong curb appeal. Antique white has been proven to make a home stand out above the rest. A gutter system with 6 inch boxes gives a home a very unique appearance. Just be sure that this is within your budget.

The one thing that is overlooked the most is the landscape. You do not have to completely redo your entire yard. However, some roses or elephant ears with beautiful hanging plants gives any home a warm feeling. If your lawn is in bad shape, you can install Bermuda sod which is the least expensive option.

Is Cat Declawing Humane?

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

While declawing has a history of being accepted as part of cat ownership, many question whether cat declawing is a humane practice. Alternatives to cat declawing are now seen as ideal ways to prevent cat scratching.

What is cat declawing? When a cat is declawed, the end portions of the cat’s toes are removed. Another method of declawing, called a tendonectomy, involves cutting the tendon to the nails. This leaves the cat without the ability to extend its claws.

Cat declawing is done to prevent or stop destructive cat scratching of furniture, doorways, or other areas commonly targeted for cat scratching. Sometimes, declawing is used to stop the cat from scratching during play, however what often happens is the cat will start to bite since they can no longer use its claws as a defense.

Complications of cat declawing can lead to long-term health problems and infection. Cat declawing can cause a cat to walk differently which can lead to abnormal joint where and skeletal problems. If a declawed cat becomes stray, the cat is defenseless and at risk of serious injury.

How To Pick, Pack and Perfect your Destination Wedding Dress

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Could it really be that easy? It’s true – looking your best in your destination wedding dress is as easy as three Ps. Pick, pack and perfect the dress, and you’ll look fabulous in your chosen wedding location.

Picking. Often, a destination wedding dress is going to be more informal than a typical princess wedding dress. This isn’t always the case, though, especially if your “destination wedding” is being planned in your hometown that you live three to four hours away from.

When choosing your dress for a destination wedding, take into account the climate you’re getting married in. A tropical beach wedding calls for a more casual dress in a light-weight material – after all, you don’t want sweat marks on your white dress! Choose a thin fabric such as chiffon, charmuese or organza.

A tropical beach wedding is one of the more appropriate times to choose a sexier wedding dress, too. When the location is exotic and sexy itself, no one can fault a bride for tuning into that vibe and glamming up the sex appeal as well!

Chuck Rosenthal Art

Thursday, September 24th, 2009

Oil paintings and pastels of still lifes seem to dominate Chuck Rosenthal’s work, but other subjects have also inspired him. He has done some brilliant work capturing people in everyday life, and some wonderful landscapes.

Sometimes you look at a painting and you wonder about the artist who painted it. What is his idea of art?

Artists willing to let us viewers know a little bit about their thoughts on art write an “artist’s statement” and Mr. Rosenthal has done just that. The artist says,

“I believe that truly Fine Art encompasses every aspect of the visual experience, from dramatic, or at least, interesting placement of the elements in the painting to the truest atmospheric values within the capability of the artist. All of this is intended to create an impact on the viewer that is so real as to provoke an emotional response. Strong contrasts of form and lighting are an important component.

“Looking at the long view of the development of western art one would see that there is a progression of stiff, awkward drawing gradually developing, over time, into the most sophisticated and articulate forms imaginable.

Moving Day In Costa Rica

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009

Conducting photo tours in Costa Rica can be quite an experience because I never know what my group and I will encounter. Here is an entertaining event that occurred while we were traveling to one of our locations.

During one of our Costa Rica Photo Tours, my group drove to a photography location in the beautiful and pristine Osa Peninsula which National Geographic has called “the most biologically diverse place” on earth. To get there we drove through the tiny village of Ojochal near where I live.

Let me tell you about a unique way to move that some rural Costa Ricans still use. One day, when my photography group was passing through the village, we noticed a most unusual way of moving. But, to help you better appreciate what we saw, let me provide you with some background on the man who was moving.

When we first moved to Costa Rica our only neighbours were Ticos (as Costa Ricans call themselves) and Senor Wilson (isn’t that Spanish or what?) brought us a house-warming gift of some flowering plants. It was quite humorous to see him standing at the top of our driveway holding some plants because, you see, he was too polite to come to our door without an invitation even though he was bearing a gift to welcome us.
